The vast majority of poker fans from all over the world prefer Texas Hold’em.

Rules of Texas Hold’em

There can be no more than 2 to 10 players in a Texas Hold’em game. Before the cards are dealt, two players make a blind bet – a big blind and a small blind. The small blind is to the left of the dealer and is the stipulated amount. The big blind follows the dealer clockwise and is usually twice the amount. With each Hand these positions move to the left so that all players are covered.

Hand and play on the preflop

Participants are dealt two hole cards each. At this stage, each poker player is entitled to:

  • Call (compare the previous bet).
  • Fold (pass).
  • Call (Raise the previous Bet).
  • All-in (a showdown of all Chips).

If there are still two or more Participants at the Table after a Betting Round, the Post-Flop occurs.

The Flop

The Dealer Deals the three Community Cards. Players may judge the strength of their hand when the common and pocket cards are combined. The right to open the bidding arises on the IB or sitting to the left of the dealer. All actions made on the preflop are repeated and the opportunity to place the first bet (bet) is added.

There may be no bets on the flop and subsequent streets. Each member may check without having to place any Chips in order to see the next card.

Rules and Concepts in Texas Hold'em Poker

Turn

After the fourth common card is dealt, players can make a combination of five cards with two in hand and four on the table. The Hand trades as it did on the Flop.

River

The final card is dealt and the players can reassess their hand and make a bid. The remaining players open the cards (showdown), starting with the last one who raised the bet. During showdown the dealer determines the strongest combination and gives the pot to its owner. If the hand is tied, the pot is divided equally.

Combinations

A “Hand” is a combination of cards that lets you know who will win in Showdown. A combination is made up of five cards that are in your hand and on the Table. The suit does not matter. A rarer combination has a higher value.

The highest card is the one that has the highest value in a particular combination. The first comparison with opponents is made by it. Under equal conditions the value of the second cards is evaluated.

Two cards of the same rank form a pair that increases the strength of the hand in the case of a high rank.

A pair of one rank and a pair of the other rank form two pairs.

Three cards of equal value are called a deuce. It comes in two varieties, depending on how it is picked. A set of threes is made up of a pocket card, with the addition of two cards from the table. A set includes two pocket cards and one from the board.

Five cards in ascending order make up the straight.

If the combination consists of cards of the same suit, this is called a flush. When more than one player has a flush it is referred to as the highest card.

A combination of a pair and a three is a full house. In the case of a repeat, the three’s face value is assessed.

Four cards of the same suit are considered to be a three of a kind.

A combination of a flush and a straight is called a straight flush. In this case, five of the single-suit cards are ranked in order of precedence.

The strongest poker hand is a royal flush: a combination similar to a straight flush, but ending with an ace.
